College Life, Always Eating, Changing Majors

I’m sorry that I haven’t written in a while! More like months. Good lord, I’ve been busy. So what’s been happening?

Well, I moved into the dorms near the end of August and freshman year of college started. My roommates are all pretty ok and even though the beginning was a bit rough, the year is going good so far. My original intention in college was to major in Neuroscience with a path to pre-Physician Assistant, but I’ve recently changed my mind. I’m now going for a degree in Music Education to become a choir director. Quite a change, right? Went from science everywhere to music.

Well, there’s a reason for this. I had a talk with my parents not too long ago and after a good half an hour or so of conversation, they helped me decide that music is the best option for me. I might not make as much money as I would if I became a Physician’s Assistant, but I think I’ll be happier with being a choir teacher and inspiring students. In the end, it’s about what job you’ll be doing for the rest of your life and what makes you happy, not about what makes you the most money.

So, I’ve also noticed I’ve been eating, like all the time. Gah, it’s really bad. I need to work out. When you guys or when your kids get to college, emphasis the need of working out and being healthy. We need to find time to organize ourselves so we have time for our work, social time, free time, and working out. If we want to be healthy mentally and physically, we need to concentrate on a good pattern. Go running, take your bike instead of a car, lift some weights, start rock climbing (like me! I started climbing not too long ago 🙂 ). Anything to get you active.

Well, that’s all I have for right now. I’ll try to write more as the year goes on. 🙂
